NWACT
Northwest Oregon Area Commission on Transportation
The Northwest Oregon Area Commission on Transportation (NWACT) is chartered by the Oregon Transportation Commission to address transportation issues in Columbia, Clatsop, Tillamook, and the western portion of Washington counties. NWACT is one of 12 Area Commissions in Oregon that play key advisory roles in the development of the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). NWACT collaborates with local partners on regional and local transportation issues.
NWACT meets the second Thursday of every other month from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Meetings are open to the public and ADA-accessible.
NWACT Responsibilities
- Work and interact with the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and Oregon Transportation Commission (OTC) on NW Oregon’s transportation needs and issues.
- Provide a forum to advance the public awareness and understanding of the region’s transportation issues
- Review and provide input on projects proposed for ODOT funding.
- Make recommendations to ODOT regarding special funding opportunities and programs
- Communicate and coordinate regional priorities with other ODOT regions and ACTS, the Governor’s NW Oregon Regional Solutions Team and ODOT advisory committees
- Provide input on ODOT corridor plans or local transportation system plans (TSPs)
- Provide input to the Oregon Transportation Commission (OTC) on State and regional policies affecting the transportation system.
